“And heeeere come the Fish Cakes…”
Fans at a soccer match in Norway between Rosenborg BK and Lillestrom lost their lunch in an airborne assault of the players and field due to the use of VAR (video assist referee). It only took a few minutes of gameplay for the Fish Cakes to begin pelting the field. Fans are reportedly unhappy with the slowdowns caused by the VAR.
Players went to the locker rooms after the fish incident, only to return later and be pummeled by fish cakes once more, along with tennis balls and smoke bombs prompting the league to decide enough was enough, and suspend the game.
The question as to where all the fish cakes came from remains, as does how the league will handle this outrage over VAR.
